What We are Looking for: 13 Labourers

We are currently looking for 13 Labourers to join our team. Everyone is welcome to apply even those without prior experience! We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals for the positions. The successful candidates will be provided on-the-job training with lots of room to grow!

What You’ll do:

• Reading production orders and diagrams;
• Trimming and sanding joints (if necessary), or other wooden parts to be assembled using hand and power tools;
• Assembling pre-cut wood chords and ensure joints are accurately positioned.
• Checking all wood chords for straightness including pre-cut webs before starting at the peak outside working towards the center
• Ensuring all plates are positioned on joints, tacked into wood at all four corners;
• Double checking if plates are placed on both sides of the wood joints;
• Prioritising with Order Maker of SF Driver constantly, to get orders completed on time to optimise production;
• Ensuring all material is stacked and secure, crossers are properly aligned, and load weight is uniformly distributed to ensure a stable and safe stack;
• Ensuring grade of material is attained when order making, while meeting company, industry, customer, and grading standards;
• Working under the supervision of the Yard Foreman;

What we need:

• No previous experience needed – we will provide training
• Must be able to work under pressure and on different projects at a time
• Must be able to lift weight of up to 23 kgs, if needed
• Good understanding of environmental-friendly wood and millwork materials
• Must be able to work in tight spaces
• Good English language skills (written and oral)
• Familiarity with workplace safety, safe lifting, and handling procedures
• No education requirement

Working Conditions:

• Minimum of 40 hours per week for $19.66, overtime rate may apply after 44 hours of work per week.
• This is a full time, hourly position with our head office at 3255 N Service Rd, Burlington, Ontario L7N 3G2
• Able and willing to work construction hours (7:30-5:00 weekdays and Saturday mornings, occasional Stat holidays) as business needs dictates, in a fast-paced environment with continuous change.
• Able to work with many different teams
