Early Childhood Educators (10 positions)

Always looking for talented and skilled professionals, we are currently looking for 10 Early Childhood Educator to assist the day cares with its daily operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with the board in developing and implementing programs that aim to support and promote students’ holistic development through physical, cognitive, emotional and social activities
• Conduct engaging activities such as story telling, singing, arts and crafts, dramas, and physical activities
• Always plan and maintain an environment that ensures protection of health, security and well-being of children
• In partnership with the parents, assess the abilities and needs of students and discuss progress or problems and propose special study plans to ensure they benefit from the academy’s services
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians and supervisor
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits on a daily basis
• Establish and maintain collaborative and healthy relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
• May supervise early childhood educator assistants and/or trainees and ensure they abide by the academy’s standards

Qualifications

• Completion of a college program in early childhood, education, or in child development ;
• Level 1 or Level 2 Early Childhood Educator certificate is required; or
• Must be able obtain required certification within six months;
• At least 1-2 years of experience in childcare and inclusive resource practice, or in a similar capacity is required;
• Excellent oral and written English communication;
• Medical Examination;
• CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset.

Compensation (Salary)

• $21.00 per hour for at least 40 hours per week;
• Overtime rate will apply after 44 hours of work per week;
• Permanent, full-time employment;

Location of Work:

• Main office: 8453 Franklin Ave, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 2J2
• Hours of operation: Monday – Friday: 6 AM – 6 PM
