It’s your once a week drop in spot where you come by for something familiar and comforting like staple dish – pork wonton and noodles. The menu changes frequently and seasonally, so you can enjoy the classics and always be refreshed and surprised by new dishes on the menu.
At this time, we are looking to hire 2 professional Senior Chef de Partie experienced in preparing authentic Hakka-Chinese and international infused cuisine menu items for a full-time, permanent position. This is a very rewarding position, and you would be part of a team of energetic people.
As a Senior Chef de Partie, your duties and responsibilities are:
- Prepare and cook menu items as per company’s recipes for ranges of products;
- Supervise kitchen helpers, including scheduling shift activities;
- Oversee kitchen operations and ensure that the team is ready for their shift;
- Maintain, organize and order ingredients, inventory or other supplies needed for preparation of food items – may conduct weekly inventory;
- Communicate with kitchen helpers any issues with food quality and in-proper use of ingredients;
- May plan menus with Head Chef in concocting new recipes, determine size of food portions and estimate food requirements;
- Follow all government procedures for Food Safety and Health and Safety;
We are looking for the following qualifications:
- High-school diploma – Completion of college, preferably in culinary management would be a great asset!
- At least 2 years of experience as Sous-Chef or Chef de Partie preparing authentic Hakka-Chinese cuisine or experience in international infused cuisines – professional portfolio and quick demo may be requested;
- Ability to communicate in English and oversee kitchen operations;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What we offer:
- $23.00 per hour for 40 hours of work per week
- Overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week
- Permanent, full-time position
