Job Overview
We are seeking 2 dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Assistant Cooks in the food industry.
As an Assistant Cook, you will provide support in various kitchen and food service tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant.
Duties:
• Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of experienced chefs;
• Help with meal preparation, ensuring all dishes are prepared according to recipes and quality standards;
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment;
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the health and safety of our customers;
• Assist in stocking inventory and maintaining adequate supplies for daily operations;
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting with order taking, serving, and addressing customer inquiries or concerns.
Qualifications:
• On the job training will be provided – previous experience in the food industry or a similar role is preferred;
• Completion of secondary school;
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail;
• Good English language skills and the ability to work well within a team;
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required;
Compensation:
• Permanent, full-time position with lots of room to grow!
• Starting rate from $17.00 per hour, for at least 40 hours per week;
• Overtime rate will apply after 44 hours of work per week;
• Location of Work: 1279 Gerrard Street East, Toronto, ON
