Position Title: Senior Nail Artist

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: 158 Clair Rd E, Unit J3, Guelph South, ON, N1L 0G6 Canada

Wage: $30.00-$36.00 per hour

Hours of Work: 30-40 hours per week; Overtime applicable after 44 hours per week

Vacation: 4% of gross wages or as per provincial standards

Position Summary:

The Senior Nail Artist performs advanced nail care services and plays a key role in maintaining service quality standards within the salon. In addition to providing specialized nail treatments, the position is responsible for mentoring and training junior staff, ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations, and contributing to overall operational efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced manicure and pedicure services, including nail shaping, cuticle care, exfoliation, and application of polish and specialty finishes.
  • Apply and maintain artificial nail enhancements including acrylic, gel, builder gel, and shellac systems in accordance with client requirements and salon standards.
  • Perform intricate nail art and customized designs using various techniques such as hand-painting, stamping, embedding, and embellishments.
  • Assess clients’ nail health and recommend appropriate treatments, nail care routines, and suitable products.
  • Ensure strict adherence to sanitation, sterilization, and infection control procedures in compliance with provincial health regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Train, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance to junior nail technicians and newly hired staff on service techniques, hygiene standards, and customer service practices.
  • Oversee and review the work of junior staff to ensure consistency in service quality and adherence to company protocols.
  • Assist in developing service procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain inventory of nail products and supplies; coordinate with management for timely replenishment.
  • Provide consultations to clients, address concerns, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Promote salon services and products, contributing to increased sales and client engagement.
  • Stay updated with current industry trends, techniques, and product innovations to enhance service offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and applicable labour and industry regulations.

Employment Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a nail technician or in a related role is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced nail enhancement techniques and nail art.
  • Experience in training or mentoring junior staff is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation, sterilization, and infection control practices.
