Our plant in Brampton, Ontario is hiring for the below position which needs to be filled immediately.

Position:  Manufacturing technician – Industrial engineering

Duration: Full Time
Location: 17 Edvac Dr, Brampton, ON L6S 5P2
Salary: $30.00 per hour–The gross salary paid is subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 32-44 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Assist with and coordinate product launch; ensuring timing and labour budget requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and conduct production, inventory, and quality assurance programs in manufacturing area.
  • Develop and implement timeline (schedule) based on customer expectations and realistic possibilities.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives on all tooling/equipment and production processes. Perform ongoing process evaluations including equipment time studies, run at rate studies, tool changeover studies etc.
  • Develop manufacturing and processing procedures and variables, set machines & equipment controls, oversee production and inspect processes.
  • Ensure GD&T compliance on drawings
  • Create and maintain process documentation (work instructions, training, check sheets, etc.)
  • Prepare and interpret AutoCAD & Solid works designs, drawings, and specifications for the products before launch
  • Assist in inspection of mechanical installations
  • Upkeep of existing and new bill of materials (BOM’s)

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering Technology
  • Experience working with software: Mastercam, Solidworks and AutoCAD.
  • College level diploma in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related discipline or equivalent work experience is required.
