What We are Looking for: 25 Truss Makers

We are currently looking for 25 Truss Makers to join our team. Everyone is welcome to apply even those without prior experience! We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals for the positions. The successful candidates will be provided on-the-job training with lots of room to grow!

What You’ll do:

• Read production orders and diagrams
• Trim and sand joints, moulding, or other wooden parts to be assembled using hand and power tools
• Assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels using glue, staples, screws, bolts or other fasteners
• Assemble door panels, trusses, modular components and other parts on assembly line to make prefabricated housing using jigs, overhead cranes and hand and power tools
• Reinforce assembled products with dowelling or other supports, and install hardware such as knobs and hinges
• May assist with maintenance of machinery;
• Work under the supervision of the Truss Foreman.

What we need:

• No previous experience needed – we will provide training
• Must be able to work under pressure and on different projects at a time
• Must be able to lift weight of up to 9 kgs, if needed
• Good understanding of environmental-friendly wood and millwork materials
• Must be able to work in tight spaces
• Good English language skills (written and oral)
• Familiarity with workplace safety, safe lifting, and handling procedures
• No education requirement

Working Conditions:

• Minimum of 40 hours per week for $18.50, overtime rate may apply after 44 hours of work per week.
• This is a full time, hourly position with our head office at 2601 Hwy #20 East, Unit 7, Thorold, Ontario, L0S 1E6
• Able and willing to work construction hours (7:30-5:00 weekdays and Saturday mornings, occasional Stat holidays) as business needs dictates, in a fast paced environment with continuous change
• Able to work with many different teams
