What We are Looking for: Junior Truss Designer

We are currently looking for a Junior Truss Designer to join our team of designing and supply of high-quality residential and commercial engineered roof and floor systems. What You’ll do:

• Creating layouts for roofs and for residential or commercial buildings using digital drawings and 3-D drafting software;
• Communicating and working with the Floor Design Department and Engineers when necessary for specific design requirements;
• Interpret construction plans, building supplies plans and information, apply these files for quotes and production;
• May supervise construction projects and coordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others;
• Performs other duties as required.

What we need:

• Completion of a two- to three-year college program in architectural technology or a related subject;
• At 1- 2 years of work experience in the engineering and truss industry is preferred but not required;
• MiTek SAPPHIRE software experience is an asset;
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code is required;
• Understanding of Truss Plant Institute of Canada is an asset;
• Extremely detail oriented;
• Functional math and computer skills;
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent professional work ethic;
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player to support the team with demands and deadlines;
• Have a creative mindset and be able to think outside of the box;

Working Conditions:

• Minimum of 40 hours per week for $31.25, overtime rate may apply after 44 hours of work per week;
• This is a full time, hourly position with our head office at 5532 Slaters Road, Stouffville Ontario L4A 2G7;
• Able and willing to work construction hours (8:00-5:00 weekdays and Saturday mornings, occasional Stat holidays) as business needs dictates, in a fast-paced environment with continuous change;
• Good English language skills;
• Able to work with many different teams.
