What We’re Looking For

We are seeking two skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics who take pride in precision work and mechanical problem-solving. The ideal candidates will be hands-on professionals with strong diagnostic abilities, experience with construction and transport equipment, and a proactive attitude toward safety and teamwork.

Main Duties

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, cranes, and heavy trucks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems using computerized diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective components in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain assemblies, suspension systems, pneumatic systems, and braking systems.
• Service and maintain equipment attachments and working tools including ploughs, blades, booms, winches, and buckets.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance such as lubrication, filter replacement, and cooling system inspections to ensure equipment reliability.
• Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild major components such as diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and final drive assemblies.
• Conduct operational testing and inspections following repairs to confirm proper functionality and compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Perform welding, minor fabrication, and structural adjustments when required for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures in both shop and field environments to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and work orders documenting diagnostics, repairs, and parts replaced.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and comply with company safety policies and industry regulations.

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required. Mechanical training or technical education in heavy equipment, diesel mechanics, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, heavy-duty machinery, or similar mechanical systems in a repair or service environment.
• Experience performing mechanical repairs in automotive or related mechanical environments may be considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic, pneumatic, braking, steering, and suspension systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Experience with welding, minor fabrication, and suspension or structural adjustments is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits

• $36.00 per hour for 30 hours per week
• Overtime paid after 44 hours per week
