Position:  Production Machinery Technician
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 185 Statesman Drive, Mississauga, ON L5S 1X4
Salary: $35.00-37.00 per hour. The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of gross salary amount
Hours of Work: 30-40 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul production machinery and equipment used in plastics manufacturing operations.
  • Inspect industrial machinery, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, and related mechanical equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose mechanical and operational issues and perform corrective maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and machine specifications to determine maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Replace defective or worn components including bearings, belts, valves, sensors, and other mechanical parts as required.
  • Perform machine changeovers, mold installations, alignments, calibrations, and equipment adjustments as required for production runs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and testing of machinery to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and repair documentation accurately and completely.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all workplace safety procedures including lockout/tagout requirements and company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and machine operators to support efficient manufacturing operations and reduce equipment downtime.

Employment Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in industrial machinery maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair within a manufacturing or plastics production environment is required.
  • Experience working with production machinery, molds, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical equipment is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and machine specifications is required.
  • Moderate communication skills in oral and written English are required.
