Responsibilities and Duties
The Registered Nurse (R.N.) will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care and supporting the health and well-being of residents and patients. Duties include:
- Assess patients and residents to identify appropriate nursing interventions
- Provide direct nursing care and monitor patient progress
- Address, document, and report symptoms and changes in patient conditions
- Monitor patients and communicate significant changes to physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Assist healthcare practitioners during examinations and treatments
- Conduct health assessments and disease screening activities
- Participate in immunization and health promotion programs
- Operate and monitor medical equipment and apparatus
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Consult with patients and families regarding care plans and treatment objectives
- Supervise practical nurses, personal support workers, and other nursing personnel
- Participate in nursing-related research and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate patient records and perform administrative duties as required
Qualifications and Credentials
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
