Truck Driver

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Operating heavy trucks or tractor-trailer in a safe and responsible manner to transport goods and materials
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment and loading and unloading of cargo.
• Ensure cargo is secured properly upon loading.
• Provide accurate and timely product deliveries to scheduled customers
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the primary contacts at each account
• Complete all necessary paperwork fully and accurately
• Perform all assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner, while in compliance with all laws and transportation regulations
• Other duties as requested by the dispatch office.

Specific Job Requirements

• Must have a valid Class 1 Driver’s License or equivalent in good standing.
• A clean driving record is essential, with no major violations such as DUIs or accidents.
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
• Ability to drive manual transmission.
• Ability to lift, push and pull 100 lbs+ in a safe manner.
• Must be self-motivated and can work under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work extended hours and overtime as required is preferred.
• Ability to use a dolly and/ or power jack to deliver product to customers.
• Prior experience in transporting goods an asset.
• Effective communication with dispatchers, fellow drivers, and clients is crucial for successful deliveries and maintaining customer satisfaction.
