Steven Karr established Pride Pak Canada Ltd. (“Pride Pak”) in 1984 to service what he saw as a need to meet Canada’s growing trend for high quality, healthy, easy to use fresh food. We now proudly operate as Canada’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable processor from a state-of-the-art facility in Mississauga. In 2006 we opened our second facility Pride Pak Nfld. Ltd, which processes fresh fruit and vegetables for the Province of Newfoundland. We also boast a location in Medina, NY, United States.

Chief Financial Expert

The ideal candidates will have years of experience in a senior financial leadership role with excellent understanding of finance, strategy, and corporate development.

Job Duties:

• With the direction of the board of directors determine the company’s goals as conveyed through policies and concrete objectives which are met through the effective management of financial, human, and material resources;
• Authorize and oversee the creation of key departments and appoint senior staff positions for all locations;
• Allocate resources, including materials, manpower, and finances, to implement organizational policies and programs;
• Overall management of financial resources to ensure efficient implementation of policies and planning related to financial and administrative controls;
• Work with board of directors in appointing middle managers and other coordinating staff while also delegating decision-making authority necessary across the three locations;
• Represent the company, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions concerning the company’s operations and services;

Requirements:

• College or university diploma in Business Administration, Commerce Finance, or Project Management, or related field;
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role with excellent understanding of finance, strategy, and corporate development;
• Ability to work with the board of directors and other stakeholders;
• Superior English language skills;
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
• Excellent proficiency of MS Office suite;
• Well-organized and solid presentation skills.

Compensation:

• This is a full-time, permanent position with at least 35 hours of work per week
• The remuneration will be set at CAD $115,000.00 per annum; overtime rate applies after 44 hours of work per week

• All travel-related expenses will be paid by the company.
• Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
