EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

We are currently looking for 2 experienced Cabinetmakers/Furnituremakers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience working with metal and custom wood cabinets/furniture manufacturing. Bring your professional portfolio if you want to se us your work!

As part of your position, you are expected to perform the following duties:

  • Conduct area measurements and labour and cost estimations for the cabinets/furniture to be designed and manufactured,
  • Read and interpret imported cabinets/furniture drawings and prepare corresponding specifications,
  • Trim joints and fitting wooden and metal cabinets/furniture parts together,
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish for finish,
  • Prepare layouts for wood and metal articles and create samples and prototypes,
  • Operate hand saws and other woodworking power and hand tools,
  • Repair, refinish and paint cabinets/furniture with specific colours,
  • Create authentic, classic and modern cabinets/furniture looks, etc.,
  • Establish templates, jigs and fixtures for production of cabinets/furniture and other products,
  • Select and cut vinyl to form parts of wood products,
  • Instruct and lead apprentices, trainees and volunteers, when necessary,
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment as per safety procedures,
  • Clean work area after the shift and log all weekly job activities.

COMPENSATION:

  • Permanent, full-time position;
  • $ 26.10 per hour, minimum of 40 hours per week;
  • Occasional overtime may be required with applicable overtime pay after 44 hours of work per week
  • Location of work: Client sites across GTA
  • Main Office: 70 Haist Avenue, Woodbridge, ON L4L 5V4

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of experience in metal and custom wood cabinets/furniture manufacturing or carpentry in a similar position.
  • Proficient in operating woodworking machines and tools for cabinets and furniture manufacturing.
  • Proven experience working in tight spaces and managing intricate details in cabinetmaking.
  • Strong knowledge of various woodworking techniques, finishes, and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Good English language skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards, including safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in carpentry or woodworking is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
