Position:  Fleet Safety and Compliance Supervisor
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 6 Valleyway Dr, Brampton, ON L6X 3C3
Salary: $61,000 per annum-The gross salary paid will be subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 30 Hours a week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Supervise the activities of commercial truck drivers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.
  • Monitor driver compliance with federal and provincial transportation regulations, including Hours of Service requirements, electronic logging devices, vehicle inspection standards, and CVOR requirements.
  • Conduct audits of driver logs, trip reports, safety records, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate drivers on safety procedures, defensive driving practices, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate safety incidents, customer complaints, and compliance violations, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Coordinate vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair schedules with maintenance personnel to ensure fleet safety and operational readiness.
  • Maintain records related to driver qualifications, licensing, training, safety performance, and regulatory compliance, and prepare reports for management review.
  • Establish work procedures and recommend operational improvements to enhance transportation efficiency, safety performance, and regulatory compliance.

Employment Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Previous experience of 7 to 12 months in the transportation industry in a supervisory role involving trucking safety and regulatory compliance is required.
  • Strong written communication skills are necessary to prepare reports, records, and routine correspondence.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including rates, ratios, and percentages, is essential.
  • Candidates must be able to interpret and follow detailed written and verbal instructions while exercising sound judgment and practical decision-making skills.
