About the Family and the Role

We are a compassionate household in Ancaster, Ontario, seeking a warm, dependable, and attentive Home Support Worker to support a female adult living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). She is kind, personable, and appreciative of the care she receives. Her husband operates his own business and works full time, so we are looking for someone who can help ensure her comfort, safety, and daily well-being while offering companionship and professional support.

Optional live-in accommodation is available at no charge (not a condition of employment). Staff accommodation is fully provided for candidates who prefer living onsite.

Your Responsibilities

As a Home Support Worker, your duties will include:

• Administer bedside and personal care

• Assist with bathing and all aspects of personal hygiene

• Support mobility needs and accompany the client on regular walks

• Assist the client in water (pool) during therapy-based activities

• Help with feeding and meal support

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals

• Provide companionship, emotional support, conversation, and presence

• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning tasks

• Maintain a safe, supportive, and comfortable home environment

Qualifications

Education:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:

• 1 to less than 7 months

Certification:

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate
