Steven Karr established Pride Pak Canada Ltd. (“Pride Pak”) in 1984 to service what he saw as a need to meet Canada’s growing trend for high quality, healthy, easy to use fresh food. We now proudly operate as Canada’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable processor from a state-of-the-art facility in Mississauga. In 2006 we opened our second facility Pride Pak Nfld. Ltd, which processes fresh fruit and vegetables for the Province of Newfoundland.

Please note that our Production areas are refrigerated to 5°C (40°F), and employees are required to dress accordingly. We offer employment opportunities on days, afternoons and night shifts with some positions requiring weekend work. The following opportunity is available:

Welders (2 positions)

The ideal candidates will have years of experience in welding maintenance for equipment and machineries in the food processing/manufacturing and warehouse industries. You would be required to work with different team members in ensuring our equipment are well-maintained and pass company and industry standards for operation.

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding maintenance process specifications of on-site machineries
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using different processes
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting and brazing and soldering equipment, as needed
  • Use metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines in repairing worn parts of machineries
  • Perform other welding procedures to ensure machineries operate accordingly
  • Schedule and perform weekly maintenance procedures
  • Ensure all machineries operate properly before handing over to responsible department
  • Ability to work with different equipment and machinery (Gas welding, soldering, arc, etc.)
  • Perform different welding techniques, as necessary (SMAW, GMAW, etc.)

Requirements:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in maintenance welding
  • Excellent experience and knowledge of industrial machinery maintenance
  • Knowledge of food production and manufacturing industry would be a good asset
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, including in cold production floors
  • Good English language skills

Compensation:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position with at least 40 hours of work per week
  • Hourly rate starting from $26.75 – $28.50, overtime rate applies after 44 hours of work per week
