Salary: $19.50 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 35.0-44.0 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Assisting the manager with hiring, recruiting, oversee training, and terminating employees
  • Determining stock needs, interacting with vendors and customers, monitoring sales and accountable for inventory management and cash control systems for all shifts
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct and record regular performance reviews
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in building the restaurants’ “bench strength” by identifying and developing high potential employees for progression to the next level
  • Communicate with all shifts on day-to-day operations and critical areas of focus
  • Assist with establishing and enforcing proper security procedures to reduce team member theft and ensure team member and guest safety
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in planning and working to budgets, maximizing profits and achieving sales and transaction targets including control of Food/Paper/Labour costs in the restaurant
  • Responsible for daily cash procedures and assist with financial reporting
  • Assist with ordering of supplies and overall building maintenance and cleanliness
  • Display knowledge of and works in compliance with applicable legislation including, food safety, health and safety, and employment standards
  • Enforce and comply with pre-established Tim Hortons operating procedures
  • Ensure high standards of guest experience are maintained
  • Resolve guest complaints and turn potentially negative situations into positive ones
  • Assist Manager in running company-wide incentive programs
  • Manage team member scheduling to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts
  • Work in compliance with the occupational health and safety legislation
  • Respond to and correct unsafe acts and conditions
  • Enforce employee compliance in regard to the restaurant’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Initiate performance counseling and takes disciplinary actions for non-compliance in matters related to health and safety
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with incident investigations, workplace inspections, and formulating action plans to deal with health and safety deficiencies and for improvement to the restaurant’s health and safety practices and program

Specific Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in food service sector including supervisory experience is required.
  • Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality OR equivalent food and beverage service supervisory/management experience is required.
  • Requires excellent communication skills in English, ability to deal with all levels of employees and to resolve customer complaints/issues
