Job Overview

Steven Karr established Pride Pak Canada Ltd. (“Pride Pak”) in 1984 to meet Canada’s growing demand for high-quality, healthy, and convenient fresh food products. Today, Pride Pak operates Canada’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable processing facility from its state-of-the-art location in Mississauga. In 2006, Pride Pak Nfld. Ltd. opened a second facility to process fresh fruit and vegetables for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Please note that our production areas are refrigerated to approximately 5°C (40°F), and employees must dress appropriately for these conditions. Employment opportunities are available on day, afternoon, and night shifts. Some positions may require weekend work. We provide additional training to qualified candidates and offer opportunities for advancement.

Electrical Maintenance Mechanic, 2 positions

The successful candidates will have experience maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electric motors and other electrical equipment. They will work closely with other team members to ensure that machinery and electrical systems are properly maintained and meet the company’s operational and safety standards.

Job Duties:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, including identifying faults, isolating problems, and repairing electrical equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and perform switching operations on the electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems of production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors and other electromechanical equipment.
  • Inspect machinery shafts and other components to determine whether they require repair, replacement, or servicing.
  • Install and maintain various types of coils used in electric motors and transformers.
  • Align and adjust components and, when required, weld, braze, or solder electrical connections.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and test electrical wiring, switchgear, and related components.
  • Diagnose faulty wiring and electrical components and determine the repairs required to ensure the safe and reliable operation of machinery.
  • Test repaired motors and other electrical equipment to ensure proper performance before returning them to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, testing, and repairs.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Assist other maintenance workers in completing assigned tasks, as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
  • Completion of relevant training courses in electrical or electromechanical maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of three years of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in food production, food processing, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electric motors and other electromechanical equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated conditions at approximately 5°C (40°F).
  • Ability to work day, afternoon, night, and weekend shifts, as required.

  • Salary: $55,040 to $57,720 annually
  • Overtime Pay: Applicable after 44 hours of work per week
