About the Position
A private household is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Home Support Worker to provide assistance and support to a 64-year-old female adult with a disability. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities, personal care, mobility support, meal preparation, and companionship to help maintain the client’s independence, comfort, and quality of life in her home environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and regular exercise activities as appropriate.
- Administer medications as directed.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
- Feed or assist with feeding when required.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Accompany the client to appointments, community activities, or recreational outings when required.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Monitor the client’s condition and report concerns to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive living environment.
- Encourage independence and participation in daily activities whenever possible.

Qualifications
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Home Support Worker, Personal Support Worker, Caregiver, or in a related role is an asset.
- Employer is willing to train a suitable candidate with the right qualities and commitment.
Work Setting
- Private residence.
- On-site work only; remote work is not available.
- Safe and respectful home environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Frequent bending, lifting, and assisting with mobility.
- Ability to perform physically demanding caregiving duties.
- Attention to detail and ability to respond appropriately to client needs.
